Myra, I never added this quilt to my Phd list, but wanted to post the pic since it is finished. This quilt is for fundraiser auction for my Guild's Festival in September, the size is 65" x 65".

Colleen's PhD finish Reversible Christmas table topper

 I finished this Christmas Table Topper, it will be versatile since it has the cute Christmas Mouse on the reverse side. It is for a fundraiser Festival for my quilt guild.

Auction quilt DONE!

Today I finished the quilt I have made for Stitching Memories Quilt Guild fund-raiser Auction! What a relief to get it finished. See the entire quilt in a previous post. Size is 90 x 90 This was a quilt along with Joanne at Thread Head, thank you Joanne for this very fun project!

Colleen's Phd's - another finish!

I finished one of the tree skirt/ table toppers today. I decided not to cut for tree skirt, this is for our guild's Holiday Festival in Sept. I will add a tag with the option to make it into a Christmas tree skirt if the purchaser would prefer that. I feel so good about getting some projects finished. Thank you Myra for the inspirational blog!

Colleen's turkey table runner

Myra I was planning to add this to my list of PhD's but finished it before I could add it! Mr. Turkey will be in the silent auction for my guild's Holiday Festival in Sept. He is sooo cute, the pattern was for placemats and I didnt want to make a set of 4 so I redesigned the pattern for a runner and added the patchwork center section and the pieced border on the ends with the prairie point edge. The pattern is Talkin Turkey by LydiaJo ( I purchased it from quiltpatterns.com)

Colleen's PhD's 2nd DONE

This handbag is my 2nd finished PhD in the challenge. I have stitched all the flowers and leaves and added accents, an amythest iron on cross and a pretty pin for the closure, will add a magnetic closure behind the pin!

Thank you Myra for the inspirational challenge. I have a new project to add to my PhD's!!! Lizzie Mae's Medallion quilt. The applique for the medallion center is ready to machine applique.

Colleen's PhD's - 1 finished - Bohemian Romance

Yesterday I finished my first PhD, renaming it Bohemian Romance. Very romantic fabrics, design based on Splendid Blended Olio from Marsha McCloskey's book Blended Traditions II. The overall dark large print fabrics create interesting blending. In the large blocks I have used free motion designs to enhance the single fabric blocks. I tried to use a lot of free motion feathers in blocks as well as in the border. To my eye this quilt takes on the look of an Persian rug. I used a floral print flannel for the backing in overall green tones. I have not washed this quilt yet, I wanted to but the washer lines are frozen. Phd Progress

 I am making progress on 2 of my PhD projects. The Quilt Along  with Joanne from Thread Head quilt above is for an auction, last weekend at a retreat I added two more rows, I had 4 alternate blocks leftover and added them at the corners. A narrow black border and a 5" outside border of the tan paisley with finish about 90"square.

I am machine quilting the Bohemian Blended quilt. It has a flannel backing so I have used it to stay warm while free motion quilting.

It is very cold in Oklahoma, so I am even using my Fons and Porter cotton quilting gloves. I didnt like using them in warmer weather but they are super now!!! the Gypsy gripper hoop along with the super slider has made the quilting  very smooth and easy.

I am so excited to join this group of finishers! Ordinarily I do not have so many projects going at one time, but I do now. Our guild is having a Holiday Festival in Sept, for that event I am making a quilt for the auction, a handbag for the silent auction and 2 Christmas Tree Skirts for the Bazaar. I also started a strip pieced Batik quilt last fall (no destination for this one ) Also I have one completed quilt top to free motion machine quilt.

Whew!!! that is my list of PhD's. Now I will add pics and try to get them in the order they are mentioned in my post. Wish me luck!!! I was able to post them in order. One item missed this list a wool jacket I finished today because I love it so much I want to wear it. See pic on my blog.
