Day 2 of the PhD Challenge...

Well ladies,

(and I can say ladies, cause we have no male participants)

we are 70 quilters strong!!!

I do have one more gal that I have been waiting to hear from,

and if she gets back to me, we will be at 71 participants!!!

Over 300 PhDs (Projects Half Done)

committed to being completed in this Challenge!!!

Can we get them done!!! Darn rights we can! And we will!!!

As my friend Phyllis always says,

"Just get'er done!!"

I wish you all the best of luck with your personal commitments, I look forward to popping into each of your blogs periodically to see your progress, and to seeing your final photo "finishes" pop up on this blog...

Getting close to 50!!

Hello Participants!!!

We are nearing 50 strong!

WOW! How exciting is that!?!

Lots of PhDs out there waiting to be complete also!!!

So far 206 to be exact! 8-)

There are some gals that still haven't accepted their invite onto the group blog. Perhaps checking in your Junk or/and Spam folders will bring it to light if you haven't seen it as of yet... That is the word I've heard from some quilters I've invited onto the blog...

Remember to put a post of your PhDs up on this blog,

as a kickoff to 2011's starting date...

I see that quite a few participants have posted them already!

Good for you!! Lots of wonderful Projects Half Done showing up!

I can't wait to see them all pop up on here as they are finished!

I apologize for not commenting on everyone's posts yet.

I've been busy emailing new participants, and getting you all onto the blog, plus doing Christmas prepping and celebrating here...

Challenge will run for the first 6 months of the new year...

Comment Email Notices...

Just some info in case you are unaware of it...

If you leave a comment on someone's post, and want to keep up with any responses, check off the box (as indicated in the photo) when you leave a comment, and you will be notified through email...

Also, if you want to be notified of comments to a post you've created, you can do a "test/fake comment", click on that box also, and it will notify you as to any comments that may come...

Can make for quite a few emails... Your call! 8-)

Button Link

Some gals have been having trouble putting the button

up on their blogs.This is how I go about it...

The code/link is the URL to link to the sign up post.

Click on the "title" of that post to bring it up...

I save a button as a photo,
Go into your "design"
Then "add Gadget"
Then "Picture"
"Browse" for your photo
Pic your "button photo" from your files
There will be a space for the link in that box,
Copy and Paste the URL as your link
Click save and you are done...

If there is another way of putting a button/link in your

sidebar I don't know of it...

Wow! Simply Wow!!!

I have another gal that I am waiting to hear back from before I add her to our Participants List. She will bring the number to 30!!! Thirty participants!!! That is quite a few quilters in this challenge isn't it!?!!

I'm struggling with "if I should have a cut off number", because I know I will not be able to keep up watching everyone's progress...
Decisions, decisions... The more the merrier... Decisions...?...

As it is I haven't had time to pop into everyone's blog as of
yet already!!! Hmmmm....? But then we are all trying to prepare
for the festive season...?...

Well, the idea is for us quilters to work on our PhDs, not necessarily that I check in on everyone every day or few, right!?! If everyone knows that, then a once a week visit to everyone's blog should cover it!!

What the heck!?! I'm going to leave this callenge open for anyone else that wishes to make this commitment for themselves, but there will be a cutoff, but not in numbers of participants...

I will close this PhD Challenge at midnight New Year's Eve...

This is going to be great fun!!!

I am simply WOWWED by the response to my challenge!!!

Been gone all day, doc app and a funeral, and I just came home to 5 more quilters wanting to participate!!! RIGHT ON!!! 8-)

I am so excited that "20" quilters have volunteered to jump on the PhD Challenge bandwagon with me so far!! Like WOW!!! 8-)

We have lots to accomplish in the first 6 months of 2011! So far 75 Projects Half Done have been chosen to get our attention... Hopefully we will see them all pop up on this blog some time soon...

The more participants the merrier,

Welcome universal friends!

Welcome, to the wonderful quilters that have join in on my 2011 PhD Challenge!!! Happy to have you all aboard, and ready to accomplish big finishes in your sewing rooms next year... (around the corner)

Welcome also, to all our visitors watching for our finishes! 8-)

I am anticipating lots of wonderful and inspiring finishes (that we will accomplish) pop up on this blog during the first half of 2011...

Last year I had 20 wonderful quilters join me, and together we finished 70 PhD projects that were sitting on our back burners taking up space, physically and mentally... 8-)

Due to a busy "family" year in most of 2010, I did not accomplish getting the 5-6 projects that I had set out to do, except for my Sunflower Quilt, which I was very glad of. But, I will be knee deep in this year's challenge along with the rest of you this time!!!

I'm counting on it! 8-)

I had trouble following everyone's finishes last time, so thought it might be nice, for everyone, to see all the participant's photo finishes pop up here, all in one spot, along with links to their finish write-up posts/blogs...

How does that sound participants?

The new year is coming!!!

SIGN UP IS NOW CLOSED! SORRY...

I looked at the calendar today. What!?!

Christmas is less than 4 weeks away!?! Wow!

Time has flown by so fast for me this year...

Gee! Wonder why!?!
Surgery on my mother, DD1's Wed and all that goes with that, surgery on my father, DD2's Wed and all that goes with again... to name a few, cause there was lots more!!!
Whew... still breathing, still sane! Life's good! 8-)

Now, Christmas is coming...

I don't have to try to much to keep things low key for the up coming festive season, cause I've never been one for getting into all the fluff that goes along with it... Every year is like "It will be what it will be" and I don't stress too much... 8-)

Now, I have been thinking about hosting another PhD Challenge

this coming new year... (last PhD Challenge didn't go as planned)

So, when you have a breather in between all the season's festivities, perhaps you could think about joining me once again, and decide which "Projects half Done" items you might commit to finishing for yourself...
Too make room for all those new projects you've been thinking about, and wanting to make... 8-)

The challenge will run from January 1st to June 30th, 2011...

Perhaps a New Year's resolution...?

I'm aiming to get at least 6 done for myself during that time...
