I finished this on Monday night just in time before our trip to Melbourne (2 hour flight from me), so have only just got home to post this. It was a gift to my SIL- she lives in Melbourne, a belated birthday/ xmas present, she didnt mind.
There are a few things i would like to have done better in the finishing but i needed to complete it before we left. Again SIL didnt mind, she is a good soul. Now will have to start Phd no 3, this one is going to take a while i think!
Wecome!!!
Participants are welcome to post any finished PhDs, at any time, here on in.

progress report from Renata @ wish upon a star
I am pleased to say that two of my projects are almost done, my bloom quilt has been quilted and only needs binding,
And my starlight express squares are done, this was fiddly with all those points, but i worked it out in the end! It still needs borders and what not, but its getting there!
I hope to have these both finished soon, at least by the end of the month, so i guess that just leaves one more that i listed to start and complete, but in the meantime i just received my pre christmas order of some (ok a lot) really beautiful projects from the good ole usa, god bless america, they have the best ranges of fabric! So i might be busy with some of those too! Love all the Phds, there is going to be some beautiful quilts done !
I did these swirls which look like possum tails ! its my first go at fmq

Renata's PhD's
Well its taken me ages to get organised but here i am, thank you for your patience Myra!
Hi all, i recently got back into quilting after a long hiatus! I made two quilts for my children when they were little- they are now very big! So this year i started again and have been slowly working my way into improving my skills without tearing my hair out - well only a little bit of hair pulling!
So when i saw this challenge i thought it would be good fun!
Myra's PHD challenge should get us all on our bums in front of the sewing machine, so i have nominated three projects that are waiting to be finished,
Number one is a quilt i started a while back - and have been looking at it and wondering how to quilt it, the thing is bloody humungous, big enough for a double size bed.
Number two is something i thought would be a challenge, and is still waiting for me to be challenged!

This is yet to be sewn together, there are four stars, and I am scared all the points will be crappy!
Number three is another kit i bought at a craft show- actually i have more but im trying to be realistic!
Still in plastic ! lots of little points hmmmm...
My blog is called wish upon a star and is about my journey with quilting, teenagers and anything that amuses me really!
I am really looking forward to seeing everones work, its very inspiring, so thank you very much Myra !xox
