The Finale

This quilt has been several years in the making. One of my friends won a stack of patterns at Quilt Fest. She was so excited until she found out they were all the same pattern. So she very generously shared them with all her friends. Lucky me I was one of them. I made all the centers and then it sat for a year or two. Next I made the stars and then once again it sat. I put them together about a year ago. The borders where put on a few months ago. Then last week I finally go around to quilting and binding it. This is my final finish for this challenge. Though I might be back for an encore. (If that's okay Myra?)

3 is a magic number

Do you remember School House Rock? Conjunction junction, Lolly Lolly, Lolly, I'm only a Bill, were Saturday Morning favorites for me. Three is a Magic Number came to mind when I finished my third quilt for Myra's PhD Challenge. It is full of found memories. Like sewing with my dear friend, Heidi. And all the memories that the scraps contain.
Yes I would have to agree three is a magic number.

Finally A Finish

I took this quilt to my quilt retreat. I had a few blocks done. I knew the uninterrupted sewing time was what I needed to get the top done. I needed to get it done soon because my niece that it is for was due to arrive the following week.
I pieced the back and got it basted yesterday. She arrived 3:00 this morning so I spent the day quilting and binding it. I'll deliver it to the new bundle of joy this evening. Oh happy day a new baby and a finished quilt.

Two down two to go. For Myra's motivating challenge.

Em's PhD's

I'm so excited for Myra's PhD Challenge. It is the motivation I need to finish some fun quilts. Like this wonky log cabin that just needs quilting and binding. This scrappy star.

Another scrappy star, brights and black is a favorite combo of mine. So I'm really looking forward to this happy quilt.
And finally this one. I've decided it needs to be a bit bigger so I need a few more blocks. This is another one that I'm really excited to be able to snuggle under.

Thanks again Myra for this fun challenge.
