50%

Well, I managed to complete 2 of my 4 PhD's. I finished my Halloween quilt this afternoon. I was also able to finish my son's quitar quilt top, but it still needs to be squared, sandwiched, and quilted. I hope to finish it when I have a few days off together some time this summer. My 4th PhD was to put my daughter's wonky star blocks together, unfortuately I didn't get to this project. One thing I've learned from this challenge is that I need to be more realistic when committing to things. Thanks Myra, for motivating me to complete these items.

My 1st PhD is Done!

Of Course, I did the easiest one first:) I had friday off from work, so I took advantage of my time and made up a bee block, as well as finishing sewing the binding on this Ticker Tape Quilt! One done 3 to go!

My 4 PhD's

Here are my 4 PhD's. Like everyone else out there I'm sure I have more, but at least this will give me a starting point and hopefully a few finishes. First up is my Ticker Tape scrap quilt..this is a small toddler size quilt and it's been sitting in a bag for a couple months waiting for me to hand stitch the binding on.
Next up is my son's guitar quilt. I had the ladies in one of the bees I was in this year make up pinwheel blocks using 2 different guitar fabrics I sent. You can only see about 1/2 of this one's width in the photo..it is actually 5 pinwheels in width and I believe 5 in length. As you can tell I have only begun sewing on the sashing.

Next is my daughters' wonky star quilt...these blocks have come from 2 bees I was in this year and I still have a few still owed me, so this one will wait till all the blocks have come home or probably last on my list to do, depending on how fast I actually am:)

And finally this past October...just before Halloween I decided to make a Halloween quilt, then life got in the way. This is where I left it and I have hope fo adding at least 1 or 2 more borders around it.
So, these are my 4 PhD's and with luck and hard work I'll be able to "graduate" in June...of course by then I'll probably have to go and enroll again so I can finish more "PhD's"
