GRAPE CARRIERS

FINALLY FINISHED EXCEPT FOR THE QUILTING.  Can anyone suggest a good name for this wall hanging.  This was all needle turn applique and for the first time I am going to try to machine quilt it.  If you want to see the steps it took to get to this stage, please check my blog.  This is a Suzanne Marshall pattern.

PROMISES, PROMISES, I HOPE

Hi my name is Joan and I live in a small village on the edge of Lake Ontario, Canada. Five years ago a friend and I took a trip to Mennonite country in Pennsylvania. It was a great trip and I fell in love with the area, the people, the food and most of all the fabric. The fabric here was half the cost of ours in Canada. I purchased an obscene amount of fabric, but I also purchased a pattern and the fabric to make it.

This is called the Wedding Star and when I got home I went mad and sewed all the pieces together in sets, of course they were all wrong, so I put it away for another day. Now this day is here, I have been taking the sections apart and resewing them, this is as far as I have gotten. Challenge #1.

Three years ago our guild had a log cabin challenge. I have been slowly working on this project until I ran out of one of the fabrics. What quilt store has the same fabric 3 years later. I found a half metre, so no more excuses. Challenge #2.

At heart I am an appliquer, so naturally instead of getting on with the above two projects I have to make an applique wall hanging.
