It's just not in me

Well this blog is supposed to be for updates.

That is progress on a PhD.

Earlier I had asked to be withdrawn from the group.

Myra, such a gracious lady and encouraging one too, suggested I continue on as I had a few months to go.

It is time now to say thanks to Myra for all her work and how much I have enjoyed seeing all the great work and delightful colors and fabrics, but quilting is just not my skill. Yes I can do it, but I do not get any pleasure in struggling with the idea of finishing. So yes I guess I must call it giving up.

I would rather say just making a decision to face the facts I am not a quilter. 

You may see on my blog I am into crocheting with recycled plastic shopping bags.

I have orders for these so must meet my commitments.

Thanks to all and good luck to all the PhD ers.

 I will continue to follow as who knows, one day quilting may just click with me.

Must withdraw

Dear folks,due to an illness that is brand new to me. I must withdraw my name from this challenge.

I do not feel well and now I know why, but will be better soon.

I was just diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and yes I know there are probably lots of you folks out there who are and have dealt with this.

It was a shock to me and must spend my next few months learning how to eat right, do the finger sticks, exercise and just plain understanding what is going on with me.

I will be cheering you all on and love the beautiful work and fabrics I see each day.

QMM PhD challenge

The status of my quilt is as follows

It is about 1/2 finished.

It measures 78 " x 43".

It is a very simple pattern and my plan is to make six of these eventually.

One for each of our 6 children.

I would like it to be Queen sized.

I have not begun work on this as I have one more physical exam to complete on Tuesday before I am able to get into this.

Also I have not purchased the material for the other side yet.

I have the padding.

I feel sort of out of my league here, but I must admit being part of the challenge will get me moving and for that I am grateful.
