Final Finish HOORAY!

I finally finished the Prom Quilt.  It is called the Prom Quilt because the dark purple blocks are from my daughter's prom dress.  Only four years later, it is finished!

Two Down

I finished my second quilt last night!!  I think it turned out really nice.  Just hope the recipient likes it too!

I used this tutorial in making the quilt.

1st Finish! Yay!!

I finished my first one! Hooray!  It's a queen-size one and I've been working on it since early 2010.  I basted it last Friday night and began the quilting last week.  Finished the quilting on Thursday night and did the binding last night and this morning!  I probably should have quilted it more .. but its done now.

Two more to go ...

Thea's PhD Challenge 2011

Spurred on by my one follower (you know who you are), I have joined this challenge! I am excited because I will be forced encouraged to finish the quilts I have already started, even if I move on to others. Here are the projects I'm going to finish...

1) my "other" pinwheel sampler. I made a second pinwheel sampler when doing the p.s. i quilt pinwheel sampler quilt along earlier this year. It is really big and I am a little scared about the quilting that will have to be done and I really want it to turn out nicely.

2) A quilt for my younger daughter, made partly from her prom dress. It was a beautiful purple dress and I thought it would be a good way for her to use it over and over again. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures -- her prom picture is in a box in storage. I'll post pictures of the project as I begin working on it.

3) A quilt for a young friend (formerly a co-worker) who really liked some of the other quilts I had made. I'm making this pattern using the fabric below.

That's it..
