I confess...

I have to confess I'm not even 1/2 done the 6 PHDs I committed to in the bleak cold snowy winter. What I do know from this challenge is that my dream of finishing the Gail Pan designs is not going to happen - I love the" idea" of sitting & doing embroidery in the sunshine on a snowy day, the reality is that I grab my knitting instead. The clematis applique bag, however, will get done over the summer. Our Wednesday night group plans on having several mini-retreat days this summer - finishing the bag will be my focus on those days.

I listed 3 quilts - 1 is finished and the other 2 are at the long arm quilters & won't be ready for binding before the end of June deadline.

I'm hoping Myra will leave the blog open for awhile so I can at least post my 2 late PHDs :)

My 2nd PHD Tropical Delight was finished this weekend at a quilt retreat...what a great time with lots of laughter, friends & great food. You can see a few of the lovely tops that others pieced this weekend hanging from the balcony in the second picture.

Voila!

 Completely finished - front & back, embroidery, buttons & binding - ready to hang this coming Halloween! The backing is not Halloween related but I have yards of this fabric left from another project & I do love it - may just hang it on the door for awhile. Off to a retreat this weekend & will be searching for border fabric for the next PHD.

A Christmas Wish BOM from Gail Pan - started January 2009 - the idea was to do this & have it completed by Christmas 09 - 09 & 10 have come & gone - 3 completed - 1 is missing - defintely time to finish or ditch it. Bags...here are 2 small bags that need finishing - what's missing is the bag I promised my sister - she chose and bought the fabric in June - there is no picture because I can't seem to locate the fabric in my sewing zone (mess) - hmm maybe this is number 7... Happy New Year - cheers - here's to effortless quilting & finishing!

I signed up for the PHD challenge Dec 9 - ta da all of a sudden it's Dec. 30! This is sooo typical of me - procrastinate 'til the last second...all this will change in the new year...this is about accountability right ?! Clematis Applique Bag - from a workshop this fall - the applique is done - now to put it together.
Wedding Crasher Quilt - 3 crazy quilters briefly crashed a friend's daughter's wedding - just happened to be a quilt shop close by having a $5 / m sale - what could we do but buy 5 m to make a Five Yard Quilt - needs border etc.

Happy Jack - purchased as a kit Sept. 09 at Fargo quilt show - determined it will be ready for halloween 2011
