I'm not sure what it says that I'm posting my first finish, while a couple of others have finished their challenges. But that's OK, I'm just happy to have one more quilt off the UFO list, only 3 left on the list.
I took a mental health day on Saturday and finally finished the binding on the 2008 BOM, the first one on my challenge list.
Nine of the blocks in this quilt were made by the ladies who participated in the Brown Bag BOM. This one sat in the UFO pile because I know a couple of the blocks had problems and would have to be reworked a bit, plus I couldn't figure out how to set these together. I like how the alternating green and light background layout. I knew I wanted to use the bright pink in the setting, but it's a bit overpowering in large doses. Using it in the small setting squares and the narrow borders worked pretty well.
I don't do my own quilting. Trudy Lindemann (Keepin You in Stitches) did this one for me. I love the floral pattern, it works well with the theme of the quilt.
So one down and two left to go. With just 6 weeks left in the challenge, I'm not sure I can finish up the other two, but I'm going to try.
