This is my first PhD finish; woohoo! I'd finished the top back in Jan./10, but was unsure how to quilt it. This challenge was what I needed to just get'er done. Pattern came from Moda Bakeshop and can be found
HERE. Fabric is Aviary by 3 Sisters for Moda.

It's my first attempt at free motion quilting. I've been practicing on a sampler and just decided to go for it. Figured the recipient of the quilt, my daughter, wouldn't mind the wonky stitching anyways. And dispite all it's flaws, must say that I love it and am thrilled that I finally did some FMQ.

It feels so great to have this flimsy now a quilt, with my little girl walking around hugging it.
More details can be found on my
blog, if you're interested.
Thanks for doing this Myra. It's really helped motivate me.

I heart prairie points! I need some of your JUST GO FOR IT free motion quilting courage ;) Well done.
(Wonky seems to be a noun these days - say you meant to do it that way :)
Your pinwheel quilt is adorable, I love the prairie points for the inside border. Your free motion quilting looks wonderful! There is a wonderful sense of accomplishment when you can do your own quilting! Start to finish all by your own hands! You should be very proud of yourself!!!
Thank you all for your kind words of encouragement. It means alot!
Beautiful - just beautiful! And the prairie point edging on the border adds such a nice touch! Congratulations on a gorgeous finish :)
You did a wonderful job of FMQ-ing this quilt! Love the big hearts in the outer border. Nice work!
