Getting ready...

to jump into Myra's challenge. I've decided that this very old bow tie will be project#3. It's hand pieced(by me)from scraps of feed bags and vintage fabric. It needs a border since it's only 46" X 52" right now. I will hand quilt this one.
Here's a close up of some of the feed sacks for you vintage fabric lovers!
M 4th project is so elderly it creaks. I began making these Birds In Air using my collection of the(then popular) Marcus Brothers fabrics. They were just into their "reproduction" beginnings. I have 30 blocks done, and kept most of the fabrics with them. Not sure how big I will make this, but you can't do much with 30 6.5" blocks. So we'll see where it leads me. I won't be handquilting this one.

And for project #5, I'm going to finish up these Aunt Gracie's Stars. I'm not a fan of the Aunt Gracie type reproductions and darned if I know why I kept buying them. I suppose my love of feed sacks is to blame. Anyway, it's a simple quilt, not sure how many blocks are done and how many more I need, but I've got the fabric to finish it. That sure makes it easier!
I know I still need a 6th project, and altho I have dozens to choose from I'm hesitating. What do you gals think if I put 2,3, or 4 snuggle size donation tops on my list as ONE project? I feel they would equal at least one bigger project and popping one of them under the needle for quilting gives me a nice break from the scheduled projects. There are at least a dozen of the snuggle size or up to double bed size waiting to be quilted...does any one object?

I only have tops as my committments, so you can do one and count it, or two and count it as one. Don't overcommit yourself, make sure it stays fun!

No objection here!! Like Lisa says, make sure you are having fun!! The whole goal of this challange, is to get us moving and shakin' on things we keep putting off for some reason or another!!!

I can't wait to see how your Aunt Gracie's Stars turns out. Good luck on getting your PhD's done.

I agree with Lisa and Brenda, if it works for you, I'm OK with it. I like your bright 1930's color schemes. They all look like sunshine.

I'm having a hard time prioritizing which things I want to finish -- there are so many great choices to work with. Your quilts are all very lovely. Best of luck with getting it all finished!

I saw that bow tie pattern in a magazine and have it in one of my (other) lists of things to do! Hope mine turns out half as nice as yours....whenever I do it!

You do what works for you with the snuggle size tops. It is your commitment, so your call, right!?!
Have a great Christmas! 8-)
