Hi, all!
I'm Sarah C. from Confessions of A Fabric Addict, and boy, do I want to get my stack of UFO's done this year! I'm so glad that Myra has started this PhD Challenge to give us a place to meet up and encourage each other to finish things!!
I'm hoping to get six projects finished up by the end of June 2011.......
Here's PhD #1 - a Christmas quilt I started last January - all the strips are cut, and about half of the strip sets are sewn together. This is going to be a gorgeous, around the world quilt when it's done. My plan is to finish this one in January!
And here is PhD #2 - 36 Jacob's Ladder blocks representing my month of Bee Splendid! They're ready to go, already numbered in the order they should appear in the finished flimsy - I just need to put them together, back and quilt!
PhD's #3, 4, and 5 are all block sets made by Amy's Simple Sampler Quilt Along design. #3 and #4 are complete sets, and only need sashing and cornerstones to make up the flimsies. #5 is another series of the blocks that I'm in progress on - I'm using this pattern to teach a bunch of ladies to piece blocks, and these are the ones that I'm making as I show them how to make each block.
And last, but not least....
PhD #6 is a quilt that I started as part of a "learn to piece" breakout session at a women's retreat in November of 2009. With only a short amount of time in each session, I taught people how to piece a nine-patch, each of which would be worked into the dark blue background. Unfortunately, it's been sitting in a bag ever since then! I don't think it will take that long to finish piecing the flimsy....
So those are my six PhD's I'm hoping to finish. The only thing that may keep me from meeting this goal is if my quilt ministry gets too busy - but as we are training up new quilters every day, hopefully we can spread the load out a little bit. I'd love to get all of these done before June, so I can start a whole new pile of UFO's!!
Later!
Sarah

Hi, Sarah,
Fancy meeting you here... your projects look great, really colorful. My Quilt Alongs are here too...I caved in, though, and didn't do the corner squares..
