OK, I know I have way more than 3 PhDs but I'm committing to finishing these 3 during the challenge!

The first is a twin sized (at least) selvage quilt. I think I've just run out of enthusiasm for it right now. I've pieced more blocks than what are in the photo but still not enough to finish. There are piles of selvages everywhere in my sewing room and I so want this project over with so I can walk in without stepping on selvages!

This is another big project: a hand pieced, queen size clamshell quilt. This will be only the second quilting project I've ever hand pieced. Progress on it just depends on how much time I have to stitch. During October, I finished 7 of these diamond shaped blocks. In November I finished one and here it is January and I'm still not finished with the ninth block. There's alot of work left to do on this project!

I got a late start on Quiltville's mystery quilt, Roll Roll Cotton Boll. I'm struggling to finish those string blocks, only have 23 done, and am also working on sewing the rows of HSTs together. On Friday, Bonnie Hunter will release the next part of this mystery quilt. A pieced border, perhaps? Help, I feel like I'm falling further and further behind!

I'm for sure not getting anywhere fast when I make mistakes like the one in the block above! I was so pleased that I hadn't chopped off any of the points of the HSTs that I didn't notice the mistake. How could I have missed that? I really hate to pick out seams but I did it and the block is fixed now.
I think my biggest problem lately is not enough time to spend working on the quilts. I seem to be choosing large projects too. In any case, I want these three quilts done by the end of the challenge. There's always another quilt project lurking in my mind and tempting me to start it!
So many quilts, so little time.

These are beautiful quilts - just imagine how much you're going to enjoy them when they are finished!
the clam shell quilt is stunning. I've never seen anything like that before.
Love your projects. I've never seen a clam shell quilt either. This is amazing. Can't wait to see this one finished!!
Your PhD's are fabulous! We all make mistakes, easily done when we are busy focusing on one aspect of the quilt...I've certainly done it!! lol
That clamshell is amazing. Good luck with your PhDs.
Wow on the clamshells, people actually have time to quilt things together by hand??? WOW! As for the RRCB, I have been there from the beginning, and I only have 9 of the string blocks done, and haven't started the HST, so don't feel bad about being a little bit behind!
All I can say about the clam shell is "are you insane????" I will bow at your feet when you finish this one as you will be my hero!!!!
