PhD Challenge Finish No. 2 - Climbing Lanterns

I finished the Climbing Lanterns quilt today.  Woo-hoo!

Very nice. I saw this quilt in a store last year and thought it would be great fun to make and so pretty when complete. It's certainly pretty, was it fun, too?

Was it fun to make? Yes, although I was out of my comfort zone just about every step of the way, except for piecing the background. The instructions said it was for "confident beginner," and somehow that just made me laugh!
