I'm pleased to join Myra again for another go-around of the PhD challenge. My name is Katherine and some of you may know me as Quilter Going Bananas, the name of my blog that I've had for the past 2.5 years. This year I committed to finishing 2 PhDs. Why so few? Since May of last year our house has been a construction zone as some of you may know. Work on the addition is almost done but there's still the niggling last bits that need to be done. My sewing area is in the basement of our home and it looks like a tornado went through there, LOL. The new area where I'll be moving my sewing area to is not ready yet and won't be for a few months. So for now I'll sew at the kitchen table with the projects I can find readily in the tornado zone.
My first project is from a one day workshop that I attended last year in June.
It's a basket quilt where I've used ME fabrics.
My second project is a Schnibbles project
called Joy Luck. Here's a pic of what my version
on my design wall patiently waiting to be finished. Strangely enough it's also made from ME fabrics. And no I picked fabrics for these projects months apart, not at the same time! LOL
Good luck to everyone in finishing your PhDs, we can do it!

I love both of your projects. I have to say that I am getting addicted to schnibbles :)
Hey Katherine!!! Wonderful projects to finish!!! I hope your home renos are finished real soon...
Waiting for Barb's quilting machine to be fixed for me to do some finishes... 8-)
Your basket blocks are so cute! What pattern is it?
Love your basket blocks and the ME fabric. I thought she only had her more "famous" black with cherries fabric. Tells ya where I've been. Never made a schibbles quilt, but sure do like all the ones I've seen. You have a great head start.
blessings,

Those both look like nice bright projects to work on during some of these cold winter days. That fabric looks familiar :) . . . I love the Drunkards Path quilt that I made with them - almost has that old-fashioned cozy appeal. Good luck and I'll be cheering you on! - Marlene
Two super projects, but I'm such a sucker for baskets! Those look so crisp!
